ESPN lineup of sports properties tough to beat going into 2020s

This tweet from ESPN PR guru Josh Krulewitz sums up the network’s vice grip on the sports TV landscape coming off its new deal with the NBA.

Yes, ESPN doesn’t have everything. The NCAA basketball tournament, Olympics, World Cup, and NHL, among others are elsewhere. The network, though, should have a nice secure feeling with the NBA now in the house through 2025.

The only major renewal on ESPN’s agenda are the Big Ten rights, which expire in 2017. Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany should hire a few extra trucks to carry out all the cash that will be coming to the conference.

  1. That is a lot of $$$ commited…I look for Fox to get the Big Ten rights by over paying, but, they need it…
